Ave Maria Immaculata!
My dearest Brethren!
Good evening!
This evening, the Japanese government declared state of emergency for seven prefectures including Tokyo and Osaka for the period of one month until May 6.
Please note that this declaration. based on a recently-enacted law, requests and instructs people in the affected areas to stay at home and many public and commercial businesses to close during the period, it does not stipulate penalties in most cases.
Accordingly, we are going to organize our Easter Sunday Mass in Tokyo.
We are contemplating to have Easter Masses at a bigger and more spacious place, in such a way that you are assured to have recommended social distancing while attending Mass.
Last Sunday, i.e. on Palm Sunday, 57 brethren, including small children, had grace to attend the Mass. Deo gratias!
For the Easter Sunday, we would like to organize three (3) Masses so that at each Mass, approximately 20 faithful would attend.
If Shinkansen train continues to serve, if all goes OK, I hope to have:9 am Sung Mass,11 am Low Mass,12:15 Low Mass.
I think many would want to attend the 11 am Mass and only few for 9 am Mass. To distribute the number of attendees even, I strongly encourage you to come to 9 am Mass.
However, I will confirm you later, when I got more information on Mass schedule.
I will tell you about the new venue for the Mass, when I know the precise details. As of now, there are uncertainties.
Please stay tuned. Come back here to check out often.
Please pray, by the way, for the eternal repose of the soul of our faithful's brother who passed away today. R. I. P.
Coming Good Friday, it is a day of fasting and abstinence! Be generous! Pray and offer penance for the rapid coming to end of the Coronavirus! Oh Lord! Have mercy on us!
So, my dearest Brethren and Friends! See you at Easter Sunday Mass!
God bless you always!
Fr Thomas Onoda
